The North Star Smart Home strategy and vision for Intel’s largest business unit.
I led the creative team that crafted industry-defining smart home experiences to inform and guide Intel’s product roadmap, partnering with customer design, engineering, and product teams to bring these experiences to life. This summary video includes digital and physical prototyping and products that helped shape the foundation of a human-centric AI strategy and provided invaluable data-driven metrics that helped drive decisions for the business.
We aligned internal and external domain experts and C-suite leadership to deliver world-class mobile, cloud, XR and ML technical and experience insights that drove multi-million-dollar investments, and a reshaping of segments, roadmap and customer engagements,
This effort resulted in 5 marquee production wins in US, PRC, and Europe, including Amazon and Microsoft, delivering multi-million-dollar revenue and a pipeline of 10+ next gen opportunities.

A small, highly specialized UX team invested in relevant experience pillars, conducting 30+ in-depth interviews in three geographic locations, researching segments of usage, and then building out personas and day in the live flows. Our work continued with Amazon and Microsoft, aligning and collaborating across the ecosystem.
We spoke to people in homes and workplaces and understood what they were actually doing. This allowed us to dig into their needs, desires pain points and presented opportunities where the Connected Home finished and the Smart Home began. As we studied the data, we learned that there were other edge-case opportunities that needed to be explored in more detail. We were starting to discover some 'uncut gems' for our business.
As the team advanced its position on opportunities and synthesized the gathered data, key patterns started to form. These patterns were translated into frameworks that helped generate and prioritize usages. We saw an opportunity to advance our observations and experience pillars into digital and physical prototyping and built several fully functional experiences that helped us more fully explore the landscape and engage in a much deeper way with customer teams. This sustained collaboration was the foundation of a deep and impactful partnership with several customers. It allowed us to win over skeptical teams both within Intel and within the ecosystem. Our foundation was now set to build bigger and better partnerships.
